UWA CHIX: Tina

Background: The Superwoman of the Professional Wrestling, Tina's UWA tenure has seen her transform from a cutthroat egotist to a role model and face of the UWA Women's division. Long known for possessing an ego as great as her super strength, Tina began her UWA tenure looking to prove that she was company's dominant female. Tina's ego brought her into conflict with longtime rivals Diamond and Darkest Desires, against whom Tina battled for the then-named UWA Women's Championship and--alongside her best friend and ally Trinity--for the Women's Tag Team Titles.

In June 2004, Tina's career saw a turning point when she was sidelined with a dreadful eye injury. The injury forced Trinity to choose "Deadly Candy" Alyssa Sanders as Tina's replacement in a Women's Tag Title opportunity against Desires and Diamond. The two were successful in their bid, and by Summer's end the newly christened T-n-A had a stranglehold on the titles. When Alexis Laree found herself in need of a tag team partner to challenge the champions, she turned to returning Tina for help. Initially reluctant, Tina eventually accepted Alexis' offer, and despite failing to capture the titles, the move garnered her the overwhelming support of the UWA fanbase. Tina quickly became the most popular woman on the UWA roster.

In January 2005, Tina defeated Pandora in a classic Death Match to become the Universal Women's Champion, and over the next 8 months embarked on one of the most memorable championship runs in company history. With classic matches against women like Shyanne, Alyssa Sanders and Mercedes Martinez, Tina made the UWA's Women's Division the talk of the industry, and its Championship one of the most coveted in wrestling.

Tina's memorable run came to a screeching halt at Hell on Earth 2005 when Darkest Desires, with an assist from Alyssa Sanders, pinned her to win the title. Tina would spend the bulk of the next year embroiled in a bitter feud with Desires and her Black Blood faction, a feud that saw her trademark red hair cut by her former training partner April Hunter.

Tina also came into conflict with Diamond, mostly due to her relationship with Diamond's husband Panther. Tina admitting to sleeping with him, her friend and former mentor, while Diamond was away on injured leave. The revelation wreaked havoc on the couple's marriage and set Tina and Diamond on the ultimate collision course. The women battled in an epic no holds barred encounter at Apocalypse Now 2006 where Tina, despite enjoying the bulk of the crowd's support, succumbed to Diamond's barbwire-assisted submission finisher, the Blood Diamond. Diamond refused to relinquish the hold even after the official had stopped the bout. Consequently, Tina suffered severe nerve damage and was put on the shelf indefinitely.

In March 2007, Tina made a much-anticipated return at SlamFest IV. Still one of the most popular and recognizable women in wrestling, Tina now looks to reassert her dominance by reclaiming the title she helped put on the map.
