UWA CHIX: Diamond

Background: Diamond's UWA career has been defined by her rivalry with Tina, the former protege and ex-girlfriend of Panther, to whom Diamond was married. The womens' relationships with Panther served to fuel an already white hot competition over the Women's Division's top spot, as early on Tina was not shy about flaunting her history with the Champion of Champions. The women battled fiercely through the Summer of 2004, with Diamond's most significant victory coming at that year's Showtime PPV, as she teamed with Darkest Desires to defeat Tina and Trinity in a tournament final to become the first ever Women's Tag Team Champions!

Collectively known as Black Diamond, Diamond and Desires competed for the Women's Tag Titles for the remainder of 2004, winning the titles on two occasions. Their run was unfortunately cut short when Desires lost a Light Heavyweight Championship match to "Heartthrob" Lance Silva and, per the match stipulation, was forced to become his love slave. Diamond, alongside her husband Panther and ally Psyko Stevo, fought hard to set Desires free from her tormentor; it was all for naught, however, for Desires had fallen for Silva's antics. Desires betrayed Diamond in favor of the Heartthrob, effectively dissolving the Black Diamond tag team. Diamond sought revenge, but an untimely knee injury left her sidelined for three months.

Upon her return to action in September 2005, Diamond sought to pick up right where she left off. Much had changed during time away from the UWA. Desires had divorced herself from Silva and formed her Black Blood army, which was hellbent on dominating the UWA. Moreover, she was now the Universal Women's Champion. Diamond dedicated herself to removing the Championship from her former partner's waist; in doing so, she reignited tensions with Tina, who Desires had controversially defeated for the title.

Tina and Diamond were at odds yet again, and tensions were only exacerbated by the revelation that Tina had once slept with Panther while Diamond was injured. The news led to, among other things, the 11-month separation of Panther and Diamond. And while the couple did reunite in September 2006, the war between Diamond and Tina was far from over.

Diamond finally defeated Darkest Desires shortly after Breakin' The Rulz 2006, ending her historic 13-month Championship reign. Desires immediately invoked an automatic rematch clause, requesting a rematch with Tina as Special Guest Referee: if Desires won the match, Tina would a Championship match whenever she wanted it. The bout, which took place at Dead or Alive 2006, did indeed end with Desires defeating Diamond to regain the coveted Championship.

Diamond was furious following the loss, the blame for which she placed squarely on Tina's shoulders. Moreover, Diamond still blamed Tina for nearly destroying her marriage, and was increasingly troubled by her continued friendship with Panther. Many fans supported Tina going into her epic no holds barred encounter with Diamond at Apocalypse Now 2006, but that didn't deter the Queen of Extreme's quest for revenge. The bout was stopped after she applied a barbwire-assisted Blood Diamond submission to Tina. Despite being awarded the stoppage victory, Diamond refused to relinquish the hold. Fans sat horrified as Diamond relentlessly forced the barbwire into Tina's throat, resisting all efforts cause pull her away. It was not until Panther arrived on the scene that Diamond released the hold, leaving the Superwoman beaten and bloodied in the center of the ring.

Diamond had finally achieved her ultimate revenge over Tina at Apocalypse Now, leaving her sidelined with severe nerve damage. Her victory was bittersweet, however, for in destroying Tina, she lost support of the UWA fans. Even worse, the bond between Panther and Tina remained unbroken, with Panther, in Diamond's mind, caring more about Tina's wellbeing than he cared about her.

Five years after it began, Panther's and Diamond's marriage came to a violent end in February 2007. After abandoning Panther in a mixed tag match against Desires and Enygma, Diamond returned to the ring to brutalize her already beaten husband, lacerating him with his own wedding ring. Since then, Diamond has frequently used her ring as a weapon to punish her opposition.

Having been hardened by her past experiences, Diamond remains a force to be reckoned with in the UWA Women's Division.
