UWA CHIX: Darkest Desires

Background: Perhaps the most sinister individual to grace a UWA ring, Darkest Desires actually began her tenure as one of the most revered and respected stars of the UWA's Women's Division. The first ever Universal Women's Champion, Desires gained the respect of fans and wrestlers alike with her successful series of defenses against the likes of Tina, Alyssa Sanders and Pandora. Her popularity remained strong even after losing the Championship, especially after she came to Panther's aid during his rivalry with Francine, "J-Dogg" Johnny Gunn, and the Enterprise. The budding friendship led to the formation of an alliance between Desires and Panther's wife Diamond. The team, collectively known as Black Diamond, would go on to enjoy two UWA Women's Tag Team Title reigns.

After Black Diamond's second reign, Desires sought another challenge in the form of then-Light Heavyweight Champion Lance Silva. The self-proclaimed "Heartthrob" had issued an open challenge for his title and Desires decided to take him up on his offer. After much reluctance, Silva agreed to face Desires for the Championship: if she lost, she would be forced to serve as Lance Silva's "love slave."

And lose she did. Much to the chagrin of her closest friends, Desires was forced to serve Silva's every whim. Panther and Diamond, along with fellow friend Psyko Stevo, sought to rescue Desires from her tormentor, but Desires did not want to be saved. After months of serving as Silva's love slave, Desires had grown attached to him. Silva, she explained, allowed her to experience her deepest, darkest desires, and she wanted more. She betrayed Stevo and Diamond at SlamFest 2, effectively dissolving the Black Diamond tag team, and thereafter became a willing servant of the cocky Heartthrob.

Things changed after Showtime 2005, when Desires accidentally cost Silva his Championship to Psyko Stevo. A known witch, Desires sought to make it up to Silva by performing dark rituals for him after his matches. Desires' increasingly odd behavior became too much for Silva and he quickly severed ties with her.

Though she was devastated by the breakup with Silva, Desires found solace in the encouraging words of her once-close friend Panther. Desires loved and respected Panther for his loyalty and the unwavering support he lent her throughout her career. However, in Panther, she also found someone who could fulfill a need far greater than any need fulfilled by Silva, for unlike Silva, Panther's status allowed her quench her thirst for power. Unfortunately, Desires was spurned yet again when Panther turned down her offer to form an alliance. She swore revenge.

Panther was the first target of Desires' newly formed Black Blood army. With Enygma as the group's centerpiece and the Athame as her monstrous muscle, Black Blood engaged in a reign of terror that turned the UWA on its ear. With Desires by his side, Enygma picked up multiple wins over Panther and by the end of 2005 had claimed the UWA's top prize: the Universal Championship. It was during this period that Desires enjoyed her greatest in-ring success, as regained and held onto the Universal Women's Championship for a record-breaking 13 months.

Since its inception, Black Blood has enjoyed seemingly endless rule of the UWA. And while the group has been home to some of the top wrestlers in both the men's and women's ranks, it is Darkest Desires' leadership that makes the group complete. Her penchant for manipulation is virtually unmatched, as her ability to exploit her foes' weaknesses has made her one of the federation's most formidable villians. Unquestionably, Darkest Desires is one of the most prolific characters in the history of the UWA.
